WatchAn informative and entertaining video about the giant garbage island in the pacific ocean. Just because Vermont isn’t on the west coast doesn’t make us immune to this issue. I think there needs to be some sort of deterrent to using plastic.

The 3Rs, reduce, reuse, and recycle, are ordered according to their importance. Recycling is all too often the first strategy that people turn to. Energy
The aging VT Yankee nuclear plant will be closed. Hydro-electric dams which hurt fish populations will be dismantled. Vermont businesses will be enlisted to build extensive solar power plants. Energy will be stored using hydrogen by the method Daniel Nocera is developing or with a large pumped water energy storage facility.

Healthcare needs to be free for everyone. It’s not a question of how to work universal healthcare into the budget. When composing a state budget it is necessary to start with universal healthcare, and work from there.
